Following regime airstrikes on a rebel-held area in suburban Damascus on Thursday that killed 33 people, nearly half of them children, one opposition leader said the cease-fire was on “its last breath.” The airstrikes were widely condemned by rebels and regional backers including Saudi Arabia as a massacre.
