For its part, the pro-opposition Syrian Network for Human Rights said it counted more than 500 violations during the same period—most of them by the regime and its allies. Following regime airstrikes on a rebel-held area in suburban Damascus on Thursday that killed 33 people, nearly half of them children, one opposition leader said the cease-fire was on “its last breath.” The airstrikes were widely condemned by rebels and regional backers including Saudi Arabia as a massacre.
